The 2012 Peter Leech memorial Cup was won on Saturday, 12th May by Junior Coyle from Bridgend. Some of Donegal's top county players turned up on the day to try and claim the popular Cup. Junior defeated Michael Leech, Moville, in a well played final pulling out a 15 dart game to claim the last leg. Junior played strong darts throughout the day knocking out David Kirkland (4-1), Cambell Jackson (4-2), James Weir in the quarter finals (5-0) and Paddy J Mc Laughlin (6-3) in the semi's. Paddy J fought hard leveling the game 3-3 only for Junior to pull away and win. Paddy defeated last years champ Sean Gallagher in one of the best games of the day. Meanwhile in the other half of the draw, Michael was moving along nicely defeating Liam Kelly (4-1),
Rodney Orr (4-2), Previous cup holder Charlie Grant (5-4) and put out his brother Paul Leech in a tight semi-final (6-4) with some fantastic darts from both men. The crowd were well entertained with a family battle in the Trawlerman Bar! But it was Junior Coyle with the stronger darts and a 7-2 win who walked away proudly with this years title!! The Leech family would like to thank the Trawlerman Bar for hosting the competiton, and everyone who supported the competition..
